Shannon Kay

Shannon

Role: Owner/Program Director, Group Fitness, Pilates mat, Apparatus & Reformer Instructor, Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant.

Qualifications: Shannon received her Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree from UBC in 1996. Since then, she has been involved in the health and fitness industry as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Leader and Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant. In 2002, Shannon continued her education by studying the Pilates Method. She currently instructs both Pilates mat, Apparatus and Reformer classes.

Special quality: Her passion for assisting others to live a healthy lifestyle and reach their personal wellness goals continues to grow. She opened Balanced Fitness Studio with the desire to create a warm and inviting studio that offers exception instruction in fitness, pilates and lifestyle coaching.

Elisabeth Szabo

Elisabeth

Elisabeth Szabo brings with her the expertise of a Can Fit Pro Certified Personal Trainer and BCRPA Pilates Instructor on mat ,reformer, cadillac and chair. Her specialty is in the field of Athletic Conditioning and Rehabilitation. Being in the fitness industry for 14 years, Elisabeth has a very good foundation for the basic principles of core stabilization and the human anatomy.

Working with her clients for over a decade, she has helped many to achieve their goal either in weight loss or muscle mass gain and core strength. Attending numerous workshops on Rehabilitation , Elisabeth helped her clients with lower back pain, shoulder injuries, knee pain to enjoy a healthy, happy quality life!

Azin Yoga Instructor

Azin

Azin was introduced to Pilates in 2006 and has been teaching since 2013. Her road map began from her early desire to move with ease and grace and her fascination with the wisdom of the Eastern ancient philosophies which overlooks strengthening and balancing the mind and body as an integrated unity. In her journey of studying and embodiment of Pilates method, what she enjoyed most was the completion of the Advanced Internship program in classical Pilates at the world renowned Pilates Center.

Her background in law , science also different exercise regimes further contributing to her growth as a movement educator. Her background in movement includes working as a teacher and dancer in classical oriental dance, Barr et Cel, ballet body conditioning and Eccentric stretch therapy. Azin enjoys assisting her clients in reaching their movement potentials by finding new pathways of movement through education, increasing awareness and re-patterning. In her free time, Azin finds joy and restoration in nature . She is also an avid reader.

Lisa

Lisa has been active in the fitness industry for over fifteen years and holds certification in various disciplines.  As an outdoor enthusiast, Lisa’s goal is to motivate others towards an active, healthy lifestyle. Lisa has trained in many Pilates styles, and is a graduate of the Classical Pilates Method through Pilates from the Center (BO,Col). Lisa believes that Pilates can bring balance to any body, and enhance one’s performance in other recreational activities, sports and daily life. Lisa attends a variety of health and wellness related courses and workshops to stay current.  Presently Lisa is embarking on her  Registered Natural Nutrition Practioner Diploma.

Jamilah

Jamilah completed the comprehensive Stott Pilates Instructor training on Mat, Reformer, Chair, Cadilac and Barrel through West Coast Pilates, Vancouver. She is an Official Zumba instructor. She has extensive training in Power, Iyengar, and Anusara yoga. Jamilah has taught fitness, yoga and pilates in India and Indonesia. She is currently teaching at Balanced Fitness Studio and various corporations in Burnaby, Vancouver.

She has passion for working with each client to bring awareness of the body through alignment, and challenges them on their own physicality, towards achieving their personal health and fitness goal.

Jamilah regularly updates her training with relevant workshops in Yoga and Pilates to maintain her variety in technique and will continue to do because learning is never end.
